Every instruction has to come through you, repeated for whoever missed it. When the steps are in front of each participant, you stop being the read-aloud service and start being the facilitator.
Questions arrive all at once, or not at all
A queue with an explicit resolve action — rather than a chat stream where questions scroll away — means you answer in order and nothing is dropped.

How a session runs
Put the agenda in the participants' hands
Each # heading is a step. Participants see where they are and what is next — or do not, if you configure the session to hide what is ahead and keep the reveal in your control.
Choose the pacing model per session
Lookahead, lookback and forced sync are configuration, not a rewrite. The same workshop can run self-paced with one group and tightly host-paced with the next.
Read the room from the dashboard
Per-participant step and status, stuck first. Presence shows who is actually connected, so you are not waiting on a tab someone closed twenty minutes ago.
Converge deliberately
Broadcast an announcement, ask for an acknowledgement, or poll the room. When you are ready, advance everyone or jump the whole room to a step.
Close with something to send round
Export the report as Markdown: what happened, who participated, what the polls said, what people annotated.

Frequently asked questions
Can I hide upcoming steps?
Yes. Lookahead is a per-session setting — turn it off and participants only see up to the current step. You can also hide an individual step reversibly during the session; hiding the step the room is currently on is blocked, so nobody gets stranded.
Does it replace Zoom or Miro?
Neither. It is not video conferencing and it is not a collaborative whiteboard — run it alongside whichever you already use. What it replaces is the shared doc, the worksheet, and asking 'is everyone with me?'.
What happens if someone loses connection?
They rejoin with the same code and land back where they were — their progress is stored server-side, not in the tab. The host dashboard greys out participants who have gone quiet, so an abandoned tab does not read as an attentive participant.
